From No-Sees to Go-Sees!
Go-Sees are one of the crucial things that a model beginner must know about. Tyra went on 10 go-sees a day in Paris! Here are some tips on how to make a lasting impression (at a go-see or an interview!) and an experience of our own Tyra.com intern, Jasmine, a beginner in the young modeling world.
1. Be prepared! Practice your walk, poses and faces in the mirror before you go.
2. Do your homework! Know something about the agency or client and be aware of scams. Not everything out there is legit!
3. Your make-up should be minimal to show off your natural beauty.
4. ALWAYS bring a pair of heels in case they ask you to walk.
5. No nail polish- simple clear, nude or sheer!
6. Pull your hair back so that they can see your face and bone structure
7. Never be late!
8. Have good posture - stand up straight, shoulders back.
9. Be honest! It’s okay to tell them if you don’t have a lot of experience. Wow them with your natural ability (this is why practice is so important!)
Our resident Tyra.com intern Jasmine is not only great around the office - she’s a model too! We asked her how she broke into the modeling world and any advice she had for young girls looking to become top models.
Jasmine started modeling when she was only 13 years old! Discovered at a wedding by a model career development company, she researched them and decided that is sounded like a good opportunity. Her mom took some headshots of her to start out with and the development company put her in a competition. The competition exposed to her to agents and she was soon signed.
Have someone take headshots of you and get out there. Make a list of every agency that is close to where you live and go to all of them! Success doesn’t happen over-night. Remember - Tyra was turned down in the beginning, but she didn’t let it stop her.

hey tyra good advicce but i wouldnt like to do walking i would like to do posses and maybe if i feel comfortable i would do walking.

I did "the responsible thing" and went to college. Now that I have my degree I am trying to do more test shoots and network with people who may be able to provide me with a modeling job. I've yet to get signed with a big agency but I continue to send my photos to agencies and companies. I know I have what it takes and I practice my walk and poses all the time in the mirror.

I went to my first real go-see two weeks ago.it was fashion show and I dindnt get the part.That didnt upset me at all.I actually felt honored to be considered by my agency just to go to the go-see beacause Im only 14 (and i have braces and I know thats not good if you want to model).I am very thankfull for the expirience!

I know there are alot of people trying to break into this business who may have it worse than I so I'm trying to get it together. Still I feel like there are so many feats my skin color for one. I feel like because I have a darker skin pigmentation that my chances are automatically slimmer on top of that I dont really fit into a catergory I too fat too be a regular model and too skinny to be plus size I just wanna scream.

It was not until about 4-5 yrs ago I learned to be more confident and love the skin I am in and to embrace what I have been blessed with. I definitely dont look my age, but I feel that modeling is where I need to be. I am more confident and ready.

I started to signup for agencies online as an amateur inspiring model, and ended up making the wrong turn. I'd rather not expose anybody, but my advise to the new bees like myself would be to really be careful with scam agencies out there. They offer you the world to get you to their company and then charge you an arm and a leg to get you a profile.
After that, a friend told me to send pictures to real agencies, which i have done, but yet no response was received from any of them. I don't want to give up on my hope and dream, but I'm getting older and i'm short. I wonder if those could be...

I always thought about modeling but my height and my physical shape always made me step back. That totally changed when I heard about plus sized modeling, and when one of my good friends told me I should make use of my natural beauty. After doing some research on the subject I found out that the modeling field for voluptuous ladies was growing very fast and that I should act faster if I wanted to still do this.
Sometimes, acting fast is not the smartest idea, because you end up making decisions from the top of your head and making a big mistake.
