Be the Perfect Wing Woman
Are you nervous when you meet a guy for the first time? Do you have trouble starting a conversation with that hottie you spied at the party? That’s what friends are for! Make a plan to be each other’s matchmakers before you head out for the night. Stick to this step-by-step guide to land the guy that you want (with a little help from your girlfriends).
Step 1: Scan the area! Search for the hot spots where everyone’s gathered.
Step 2: Call dibs! Pick out the guy (or two) that you want to chat up and point him out to your friends.
Step 3: Get your wing-woman on the move! Have one of your friends nonchalantly walk over and make an introduction. (Example: “Hey! Aren’t you friends with Ryan?” - After all, what guy doesn’t have a friend named Ryan?)
Step 4: Make YOUR intro! You and your friend need to have a signal for you to walk over. A hair tousle or a glance at her phone is a non-obvious way to know when to join them.
Step 5: Work it! Get involved in the conversation! If your wing-woman is doing her job, she’ll stick around until you feel comfortable or until you give her the signal to go.
ALERT: Be prepared to detour! If Mr. Handsome turns out to be a dud or a creeper, have a signal for your friend to come and get you. Have her interrupt the convo saying that one of your other friends just arrived or that she wants you to help her with something.
