True. While it's important not to rest on your laurels, it doesn't hurt to hang them on the fridge! Actually, I'm not sure if laurels can be hung on a fridge, but you get it.

Something we think celebrating our accomplishments means that you are bragging and showing off. When in reality, if you don't show appreciation for the small things, its easy to not treasure how fortunate you have been and can start to take things for granted. Thanks for reminding us to give a pat on the back when its deserved without feeling guilty.

I am proud of my accomplishments and I embrace them and encourage others to do the same. Just last week we received a project back from my business professor and she asked if she could keep mines to show future classes how it should be done. I agreed and some of my classmates began to say "ohhh you're an overachiever.." and things of that nature but I just see it as always doing my best because when I don't is when I feel that I've cheated myself.

I think Tyra's life is a celebration. Looking from the outside it seems like this web site is a clelbration of some her accomplishments. When you accomplish something great the good feeling is a celebration.

We tend to not celebrate achievements because so many people focus on the negative and don't focus on the positive. I admit I have done that before but I am learning to stop and think on what accomplishments I have made. Here are several accomplishments I have made. First being born. If I wasn't born I would not have had a chance to play the flute for 19 years, which means I would not have had the chance to travel with the band and I would not have the chance to be reccommended for honor band when I was in High school. The honor band got to go to Europe even though I couldn't raise enough money to go the thought of being reccommended was flattering. I would not have been able to do Gymnastics or Tae-Kwon-Do, I would not have been a wife or mother which means I wouldn't be able to see my kids achievements, I was good in school and I love my friends and family. I celebrate my kids achievements too. They are awesome students and well behaved kids. It's super important to stop and think of all the good instead of all the bad. Thanks again for mentioning that. Love ya!!
