Tyra’s Morning Fix
When I signed on to help Tyra get her shape in shape, I told her to keep a journal of everything she eats. Every morning when she sits down to eat breakfast she writes the same thing in her journal - scrambled eggs!!
“I’ve been eating scrambled eggs for breakfast every morning for as long as I can remember. They give me energy to start the day and are soooo easy to cook! I don’t really like to cook, but when I make eggs I feel like an expert chef!”- Tyra
Scrambled, sunny side up or even poached, eggs are the total protein package – and one of the most nutrient dense foods out there! Rich in folate, vitamin B12 and omega-3 fatty acids, a large hard-boiled egg only contains 76 calories!
There are many egg varieties to choose from:
Conventional Eggs (your typical, grocery store eggs)
“Designer” Eggs (from hens fed a diet of flax seed or fish oils or selenium or vitamin E, more expensive)
Organic Eggs (from hens that are antibiotic-free and are fed organic feed, naturally higher omega-3’s)
Brown Eggs (usually conventional eggs with a brown shell, no nutritional difference, may be more expensive)
Egg Substitutes (include liquid egg whites or dried egg whites)
Tyra likes to round out her breakfast with a small bowl of fruit or yogurt and a cup of decaf coffee or tea.

I seldom eat breakfast. When I was in high school I usually ate oatmeal or drank milk. But, now i never do that again. I think that's not good and i'll fix it..^^ thanks Tyra
I love a good yogurt and cereal mix with plenty of berries and nuts on the side- and water or milk.

Growing up I used to put in a ton of brown sugar in it to make it taste good, but I recently started to get more health concious and learned a new way. I put raisins (which I used to hate when I was little, I love them now) in when the water starts to boil (right before adding the oats) so that the oats get cooked with a raisiny flavor, and then add a little honey to sweeten it up.

I'm allergic to wheat, but like pancakes. So, I use omega eggs, spelt flower and pecan nut butter to make a tasty alternative.

We've got the option of bagels and coffee...yeah. Sources for great food isn't really the only challenge, it's also finding the time to actually sit and eat a self-cooked meal. I'd love to get some suggestions to get in great food during a class packed day.

I have been eating 2 boiled eggs and whole wheat toast every morning. Should I down size to one boiled egg since a boiled egg is 76 calories. I drink lots of water and green tea with no sugar. How does that sound for healthy eating. For lunch I eat a salad with cranberries. Cranberries seem to curve my desire for sweets. For dinner I would eat a portion sized meal. I may even treat my self to a jr whopper with no mayo and a value fry.
