Redefining Beauty: Shaun Ross
Imagine being called "Casper," "powder" or "white out." For some people, a life of being ridiculed, teased, and called mean names might be a spirit-breaker, but that’s definitely not the case for 18-year-old, on-the-rise male model Shaun Ross (whose been called all these names and more).
"I believed in my instincts when I signed Shaun," says Djamee, the guy who brought this hot boy to his boutique NYC agency, Djamee Models. "I thought that he was not just beautiful, but he was also alluring with swagger, class, sexiness and edginess."
You got that right, because when I first saw Shaun in the street, I literally stopped in my tracks. I was like, Who is this stunning kid? I stopped him and we started to talk, but crowds started to gather and I had to rush off. I couldn't stop thinking about him so much that I hunted him down on Twitter.
This Bronx, New York born teen is no average looking guy, he’s an albino, which means his pigmentation (what gives hair and skin it’s color) is genetically impaired. In other words, his skin is pale, really pale. His stunning eyes are a rare light green. His agency even came up with a new color to describe his hair—"brond" (or brown/blond).
But you talk about working it? In the last year, Shaun’s gotten more work than his agency ever imagined ("I wasn’t prepared for the reaction from clients!" admits Djamee.) As a person who looks at beautiful people all day, I can see this fierce model blowing up for a long time. Different is where it’s at, and part of redefining beauty is recognizing that there’s something uniquely amazing about every one of us.

We have soo much peer pressure to view the plastics, cookie cutters or whatever you want to call them...but as an Alopecian (a woman who has absolutely no hair anywhere) I have met some of the most beautiful men and women who with no hair, no makeup and take good care of their bodies are some of God's most beautiful Angels on earth.
